UNIVERSITY MASTER PLAN – FOGGIA

The master plan of the University of Foggia has rather specific characteristics since it is aimed at the reorganization and expansion of a system of departments located throughout the territory of Foggia and in a series of buildings differently distributed across the urban fabric of the city.
For these reasons, the studio has used analysis, evaluation methods, and tools that allow the retrofitting and development of the existing heritage and the concertation between various departments, local and territorial stakeholders. In particular, the assessment of the existing heritage and its occupancy availability was conducted in relation to the typological characteristics and its potential for use, evolutionary trends in teaching and research, and the identity of the places.
The proposal phase was carried out on the basis of possible alternative development models evaluated in a multi-criteria manner in close collaboration with the governing bodies of the University and the local and territorial subjects potentially invested in the reorganization plan.

Giuseppe Ridolfi coordinated the work team of the University of Florence in charge of developing the master plan and directly carried out the surveying and briefing activities.
He also made the final publication of the research report.
