OSPEDALI TOSCANI – REGIONE TOSCANA

Ospedali Toscani is a conceptual project developed as a guideline for the design of four hospitals to be built in Tuscany in the cities of Massa, Prato, Pistoia and Lucca for an estimated cost of over 400 million euros.
The concept stems from the client’s objective of building four hospitals at the same time with similar characteristics both from an organizational, structural and architectural point of view.
The model identifies five areas distinguished by progressive levels of urbanity, permeability, intensity of care, technological complexity and organized in a layout capable of guaranteeing efficiency, comfort, architectural appropriateness, future expansions and constructive rationality.
The modular logic can be applyed to alternative architectural solutions in order to adapt it to different hospital dimensions and sites.

Giuseppe Ridolfi coordinated the team appointed, by the “Toscana Salute” constructors temporary group, to develop the preliminary study and the drafting of the guide project. As project financing tender, the study also included the evaluation of the economic aspects in terms of time, investment, maintenance & running costs, and economic return.
